Fudgy Chocolate Fondue Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine (125 mL)
  • 1/2 cup HERSHEY'S® Cocoa (125 mL)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (175 mL)
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk or light cream (5%) (125 mL)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (5 mL)
  • Assorted fondue dippers: pound cake, marshmallows, cherries, grapes, mandarin orange segments, pineapple chunks, strawberries etc.

Directions:
  • 1. Melt butter in a small saucepan set over low heat. Remove from heat; immediately stir in cocoa. Add sugar and evaporated milk.
  • 2. Return saucepan to low heat; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and heated through. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Fondue will thicken slightly as it cools. Serve warm with assorted fondue dippers.
  • Makes about 1 1/2 cups (375 mL).

    I have made this fondue sauce at least a dozen times, and it is perfect. Easy and tasty and gets rave reviews every time. If I have all adult guests, I'll add a splash of Grand Marnier just for fun, otherwise I serve it as is. It's great!
